Ben is available to advise school system leaders and stakeholders seeking thought leadership on the financial management of school systems, student based resource allocation, school funding formulas, and school level budgeting.

Ben is an expert in public school finance at the school, district and state level. His experience includes:

• Led a network of public charter schools with a $20 million annual operating budget.

• Served on the Louisiana Minimum Foundation Program Task Force, a statewide advisory council for improving the school funding formula in Louisiana.

• Served on the New Orleans Differentiated Funding Formula Task Force, a citywide advisory council for recommending a school funding formula that allocated additional resources to high needs students.

• Published a comprehensive report with public policy recommendations for improving the school funding formula in Indiana - Ensuring all students in Indiana Receive Their Fair Share of Funding.  Some of the recommendations were incorporated in Indiana’s approved state budget for FY 21-22.
